Welcome to Delishing. I’m Maya Brooks, a dedicated home cook and the lead recipe developer here. If you’ve ever hit that 5 p.m. wall and thought, “What’s for dinner and how do I make it happen without losing my mind?”, you’re exactly who I built this site for.

Delishing is where I share practical, foolproof meals for everyday life. Not fantasy cooking. Not 47-ingredient projects. Real food that works on a Tuesday.

How I got here

I didn’t learn to cook in a restaurant kitchen. I learned because I had to.

Twelve years ago, I was juggling a demanding full-time job and a household with different dietary preferences. Some nights I needed gluten-free options. Other nights I needed something lighter. And always, I needed it fast. I started cooking with one goal: make dinner feel doable.

That goal turned my kitchen into a little testing lab. I became the person who measures everything, times everything, and writes down everything. I keep a detailed notebook of experiments because “pretty good” is not the same as “I can repeat this when I’m tired.” I’m the one noting exactly how many minutes chicken breasts need in my air fryer, which brand of pasta holds up best, and how to adapt a favorite casserole so it works for everyone at the table.

Delishing exists because those notes kept stacking up, and I realized other busy people needed them, too.

What Delishing is and is not

Delishing is a home for easy, tested recipes organized the way real life works: by meal, by diet, and by cooking method. It’s built to help you cook confidently, even if you are starting from scratch.

What you can expect here:

  • Approachable recipes that are realistic for weeknights and flexible for real kitchens.
  • Step-by-step guidance that explains the reasons behind each step, so you can troubleshoot and adapt.
  • Modern cooking methods like air fryer and Instant Pot, plus classic stove and oven techniques.
  • Diet-friendly options without the eye-roll factor. Flavor still comes first.

What Delishing is not:

  • Judgment. I do not care if you use jarred sauce sometimes.
  • Perfectionism. Dinner can be delicious even if it is not photogenic.
  • Complicated for the sake of complicated. If a step does not earn its place, it gets cut.

My promise to you

I develop recipes the way I cook at home: with an eye on time, cleanup, and the reality that people are hungry now.

When you cook from Delishing, you’ll see details that come from testing, not guessing, like:

  • How to tell when something is truly done (not just “about 20 minutes”).
  • Smart swaps when you are missing an ingredient or cooking for dietary needs.
  • Make-ahead notes, storage tips, and how to reheat without drying it out.

I also take dietary adaptations seriously, with clear ingredient notes and practical swap options. If you have allergies or medical dietary needs, always double-check labels and consult your clinician for personal guidance.

Most importantly, I want you to feel capable. The win is not making a “perfect” meal. The win is getting a nourishing dinner on the table and thinking, “Okay, I can do this again.”

Where to start

If you are new here, I recommend starting with the sections that match how you cook and how you eat.

And if you love browsing by vibe, you can explore Recipes by Category, Recipes by Diet, or Recipes by Method.

From my kitchen to yours

I’m so glad you’re here. Delishing is for the tired cook, the new cook, the “I can follow directions but I’m nervous” cook, and the experienced cook who just needs dinner to be simpler right now.

Take what you need, bookmark what works, and please know this: you do not need formal culinary training to cook something wonderful. You just need clear guidance, a little patience, and recipes that have been tested like your Tuesday depends on it.

Welcome to Delishing.
